Looking to build on last weeks impressive win against Northumbria in the cup, the Super 2’s started off strong against Huddersfield. Unfortunately, Huddersfield scored an early goal, lobbing it over the top of the defence, and placing it in the bottom corner. York pushed on, dominating possession, and overall out-playing Huddersfield. They just lacked finishing in the final 1/3, despite the good performance. Then Huddersfield got a free kick 10 yards from the box and managed to smash it past the keeper. York started the second half off very strongly, pressing high, and getting three shots on target in the first five minutes. Unluckily, Huddersfield scored another screamer from outside the box, stunning York. They pressed on, continuing to absolutely dominate the game. Final whistle, 0-3, proving that the best team doesn’t always win. Despite the disappointing result, York showed their defensive strength and potential for the upcoming season.
